Public Program

The Public program broadens the reflection on the theme of automobiles and mobility. A program that explores transversal languages ​​and approaches, opening up to a contemporary and transmedia reflection. A schedule of events designed for different audiences, from enthusiasts to families, from scholars to students, with the aim of enriching the story of the history of the automobile with points of view: in-depth analyses of the themes addressed by the temporary exhibitions and research activities of the Conservation and Restoration Center, the Archives and the Documentation Center of the Museum; performances, concerts and special projects of contamination with art, cinema, music and other disciplines; scientific conferences linked to the themes of mobility and design; screening of the Formula 1 championship races broadcast live and free on the big screen with live commentary by journalists, commentators and drivers.

Design

M-TECH Alfredo Ferrari. The Future Educational Hub of Maranello

Tuesday, April 28 at 6 pm

MAUTO hosts the presentation of M-TECH Alfredo Ferrari, the new educational hub that will be built in Maranello and inaugurated in 2029. The event explores the architectural design competition and highlights the proposals developed by the participating teams, fostering dialogue between education, architecture, industry and institutions.

Speakers include Benedetto Camerana, Alessandra Siviero, Michele Antoniazzi and Chiara Ferrari. This will be followed by a presentation from Andrea Gavosto and Raffaella Valente (Fondazione Agnelli), who will outline the objectives and guidelines of the competition and present the awarded projects.

The event is promoted by Fondazione Agnelli in collaboration with Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile, Ferrari, Ordine degli Architetti di Torino and Fondazione per l’architettura / Torino.
Architects attending the event will receive 2 professional training credits (CFP).

Exhibitions

Talk / The Thrill of Side Skirts

The first of four events accompanying the exhibition The Drake’s Enemies is dedicated to recounting a bold and revolutionary era, defined by courage, talent and profound change. Sharing their stories will be authoritative voices and direct witnesses: the legendary Mario Andretti, joining from the United States, alongside Giovanna Amati and Bruno Giacomelli, together with journalist Pino Allievi.

An engaging conversation—moderated by Carlo Cavicchi and Mario Donnini—will weave together memories, anecdotes and behind-the-scenes stories, bringing back the adrenaline and fascination of an unforgettable era of racing.

The talk will be preceded by a guided tour of the exhibition with the curators.

Book Presentation / THE PRINCE AND THE DRIVER. THE 1907 PEKING–PARIS RAID

An event dedicated to the presentation of Andrea Gentili’s novel, which retraces one of the most extraordinary feats in the history of wheeled mobility: the 1907 Peking–Paris raid. Through the perspectives of its protagonists – Prince Scipione Borghese, journalist Luigi Barzini, and mechanic Ettore Guizzardi – the story weaves together adventure, innovation and geopolitical tensions, revealing the deeper meaning of a challenge that helped establish the automobile as a symbol of progress and modernity.

Future

Mobility Without Borders. Between Land, Air and Space,

As part of BIENNALE OFF, an initiative promoted by the Politecnico di Torino that brings the debate on technology into the spaces of the city, the Museum hosts the workshop Mobility Without Borders. Between Land, Air and Space, dedicated to the emerging scenarios of global mobility.

The public program opens with a keynote speech by Magda Kopczynska, Director of the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport of the European Commission, offering a perspective on European policies for integrated and sustainable mobility.

This will be followed by a talk moderated by Pierangelo Soldavini (Il Sole 24 Ore), with the participation of Umberto Fugiglando (MIT Senseable City Lab), Lorenzo Gusman (SAGAT), Claudio Chieppa (Reply), Paolo Cambula (Aeroporti di Roma), Piero Boccardo and Erasmo Carrera (Politecnico di Torino), and Walter Cugno (Thales Alenia Space).
