WORLD READ ALOUD DAY

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 5 | 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM

On the occasion of World Read Aloud Day, the National Automobile Museum, in collaboration with CCW, BCT, and Nutrirsi di Cultura 0-6, is organizing a free afternoon of readings in the FunZone, the museum space dedicated to families. From 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, guided by the voice and gestures of Viola Sartoretto, actress and head of the children’s library archive at Circolo Lombroso16 in Turin, we will explore uncharted landscapes with extraordinary travel companions, taking a trip around the world aboard our favorite four-wheeler.

Available spots: 25 children, each with one accompanying adult.
Cost: Free activity.

Family weekend – interactive guided tours of the permanent collection
How was the automobile born, and how has it changed over the centuries? Let’s find out together by traveling through history. Children and adults will be guided on a journey filled with immersive experiences, engaging different materials: an interactive visit where they can observe, touch, and think.

Recommended age: 3-12 years

FAMILY GUIDED TOUR OF CENTRO STORICO FIAT

Family weekend – interactive guided tours at Centro Storico Fiat
During the tour, participants will take part in a workshop activity that encourages imaginative thinking about the transformations in factory production and their impact on the shape of the city of Turin, as well as its social, cultural, and architectural fabric.

GUIDED TOURS

125 TIMES FIAT AND THE Pista 500 LINGOTTO ROOFTOP

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 8 | 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM

On the occasion of the exhibition 125 Times FIAT. Modernity Through the FIAT Imaginary, the National Automobile Museum, in collaboration with the Agnelli Art Gallery, offers a joint guided tour to explore FIAT’s history between two museums just a few minutes apart.

Guided tour of the 125 TIMES FIAT exhibition – MAUTO
A journey through the history of Turin and Italy, retracing the evolution of a brand and the many aspects of a company that has shaped the industrial and cultural identity of our country. A reflection on the concept of modernity, production systems, and the visual impact of Italy’s most iconic car factory.

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Guided tour of the Pista 500 and Casa FIAT – Pinacoteca Agnelli
A guided walk to discover the many lives of the Lingotto building: from FIAT factory and its iconic cars to industrial archaeology, the transformation project by Renzo Piano with the Scrigno, the masterpieces of the Permanent Collection, and contemporary times.

Cost:

  • MAUTO visit: €5 per person + €12 museum ticket, or according to applicable rates (free for AM holders).
  • Pinacoteca Agnelli and Pista 500 visit: €4 per person + €8 museum ticket (free for AM holders).

Public weekend – interactive guided tours at the Centro Storico Fiat
A guided tour of the Centro Storico Fiat and its collection of cars, engines, ships, airplanes, trains, household appliances, and models. A deep dive into FIAT’s diverse industrial production from 1899 to 1980. The visit begins with a historical overview of FIAT’s creation and the opening of the Historic Center as a hub for spreading the values of modern industrial culture. It then focuses on the collection’s displayed objects to illustrate the complexity and breadth of these 125 years of Italian industrial production.

The event will be preceded by a special guided tour of the exhibition with the curator, offering an opportunity to revisit the history of Turin and to reflect on production systems and the impact of Italy’s automobile manufacturing on both society and the city over these 125 years.

The Public Program completes the MAUTO cultural schedule and broadens the discussion on the subject of cars and mobility. A program that explores different languages and transversal approaches, opening up to a contemporary and transmedia discussion.
STORIES, VISIONS, SOUNDS. A  calendar of meetings that alternates between conversations, editorial presentations, projections, musical and performance events: stories that embrace art, design, literature and current affairs; visual explorations ranging from auteur films to artist videos and documentaries; sound proposals that move between musical genres, with authors and performers, ensembles and soloists.

Some of the scheduled meetings – all free and upon reservation – develop from the themes addressed by the temporary exhibitions and research activities of the Museum’s Conservation and Restoration Centre and Documentation Centre.
