When is the museum open and at what times?

The MAUTO – Museo dell’Automobile is open on Monday from 10 am to 2 pm and Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 7 pm. The ticket office always closes one hour before the museum.

Do I need to book to visit the museum?

Individual visitors or groups of up to 14 people do not need to book. Tickets can be purchased directly at the ticket office or online on the site geticket.it.
Booking is compulsory for groups of 15 or more and for schools.
Booking is also required for guided tours (whether groups or individuals).

How much does the admission ticket to the MAUTO cost?

There are different types of tickets All of them give access to the complete exhibition itinerary and to the temporary exhibitions.

What can I visit with my admission ticket?

The MAUTO ticket entitles you to access all rooms of the museum, including those hosting temporary exhibitions. The visit to the Open Garage, however, is not included

How do I buy tickets?

Mauto admission tickets can be bought directly at the ticket office or online at the website geticket.it.
We would remind you that for groups of 15 people or more it is necessary to book.

Is it possible to buy a ticket to visit the museum online?

Yes, by accessing the MAUTO – Museo dell’Automobile page on the site geticket.it
Tickets can be purchased online for up to a maximum of 14 people. From 15 people and upwards a group booking must be made.

What payment methods are accepted at the ticket office?

At the Car Museum ticket office you can pay by credit card, debit card or cash.

How long is the ticket valid for?

Tickets purchased at the MAUTO ticket office and on geticket.it are valid for 6 months from the date of issue (if not endorsed).

Is the MAUTO suitable for children?

he Car Museum is a truly “Family and Kids Friendly” museum: it is free for children up to the age of 6 and economical for young visitors from 6 to 18 (for details, see Times and prices); it proposes an audio guide designed specifically for children, with three cool characters who recount the museum in an entertainingly interesting way; it organises periodic workshops and activities for children, youngsters and families.
In addition, the MAUTO has joined the project “Born with Culture” and is part of the cultural institutions and museums that welcome families in possession of the “Cultural Passport”, which allows free admission to families with children in their first year of life. How long does it take to visit the MAUTO?

The estimated duration of the free tour of the Car Museum is about 2 hours. This estimate is very rough, however, because it depends on the tastes and habits of individual visitors, who may choose to spend more time around a single exhibit, a particular area or the whole museum. This is why we recommend that you arrive at the ticket office well in advance of closing time.

Is there a printed map of the exhibition itinerary?

At the moment there is no printed map of the itinerary, but in the exhibition rooms panels and captions give further information. A brochure outlining the history of the museum is available at the ticket office.
A completely free app for iOS and Android devices is also available, with information, stories, curiosities and analyses regarding the MAUTO collection.

Are there any audio guides or downloadable apps for my smartphone?

The Car Museum has an app for iOS and Android devices completely free of charge (with information, stories, curiosities and analyses) and an audioguide service in three languages (Italian, English and French) and in two versions (adults, 5 € and kids, 4 €), available directly from the ticket office.

Are museum spaces accessible to the disabled?

All spaces on the museum itinerary are fully accessible to the disabled. The Open Garage is the only area not suitable for the disabled.
The MAUTO offers its visitors with mobility problems a wheelchair, to make the tour of the museum hassle-free. The service is free, but it is not bookable: to request it, contact our staff directly at the cash desk. For more information, see the Accessibility page.

I want to visit the Open Garage. What do I have to do?

Admission to the Open Garage is always only possible by booking.
There are two possibilities:

  • On the occasion of “Open Garage & Car in motion” events, at a price of 6 euros (in addition to the price of the museum admission ticket). See page xxxx or our social channels to find out the next dates on the calendar!
  • By choosing the dedicated guided tour. .

What are the Documentation Centre opening times?

The MAUTO Documentation Centre is open at different times from the Museum. For more information, visit the Documentation Centre pages.

Do you organise guided tours? How much do the guides cost and how can I book them?

The Car Museum organises various guided tours which are available in several languages For more information, see The guided tour page.

Is there a reserved parking lot?

The Car Museum does not have a parking lot reserved for visitors, but there are several parking options in the area, both free and paid.

What public transport can I use to get to the MAUTO?

The Car Museum is located in the Lingotto district, near the Hospital area, in a location well served by public transport. For more information see the Where we are/a>.

Are there any refreshment points in the museum?

There is a Cafeteria inside the Car Museum which can also be accessed without an admission ticket to the exhibition itinerary itself. The Cafeteria is open on Mondays from 9.30 am to 2 pm and from Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30 am to 7 pm. Visit the Cafeteria and Booksho page for more details.

Is there a bookshop?

There is a bookshop inside the Car Museum, which can also be accessed without an admission ticket to the exhibition itinerary itself. Visit the Cafeteria and Bookshop page for more details..

Can I take photos or videos inside the museum?

Photos and videos for personal use are allowed and actually encouraged: share your experience at the MAUTO on the museum’s social channels, using the official hashtags #MAUTO and #museodellautomobile!
For professional videos and photographs or pictures taken for commercial purposes, you have to fill in a form available at the cash desk.

Are lockers available for bags and backpacks?

MAUTO provides all its visitors with lockers in which to store their personal belongings free of charge. You have to leave a deposit however. The locker room is not guarded and can be used for as long as lockers are available.

Can dogs come in?

All dogs are welcome at the Car Museum, as long as they are well behaved and kept on a leash.

Are integrated tourist cards available for museums and transport?

The MAUTO is part of the Museums and Torino+Piemonte Card Subscription circuit for tourists. The Torino+Piemonte Card can also include transport. For more information, please see www.turismotorino.org/card/.

I have the Piedmont Museums Subscription card. Can I get in for free?

Yes, because the MAUTO is part of the Piedmont Museums Subscription circuit. To obtain free admission, at the cash desk present your card and receipt certifying to the validity of your subscription.
Remember that when the time comes you can renew your Piedmont Museums Subscription directly at our ticket office.

I have a Torino+Piemonte Card. Can I get in for free?

Yes, because the MAUTO is part of the Museums and Torino+Piemonte Card Subscription circuit. To obtain free admission, just present your card at the cash desk.

Can I renew my Piedmont Museum Subscription at the MAUTO? Can I buy the Torino+Piemonte Card from you?

Yes, you can renew your Piedmont Museum Subscription directly at the ticket office of the Car Museum.
You cannot, however, buy the Torino+Piemonte Card directly at the MAUTO. You will find more information on how to acquire it on the Turismo Torino website..
