ANSALDO MOD. 4

In 1919, Genoa’s Giovanni Ansaldo & Co. decided to switch its Turin aircraft factory over to car production. Its first model, the 4A, combined admirable mechanicals with a sparkling engine with overhead timing. Light, nimble and fast, its modernity and striking performance ratings made it immediately successful both at home and abroad. Ansaldo Automobili was hived off its parent company in 1923 and remained in business until the early 1930s.
