In 1904 Oldsmobile (Olds Motor Company) launches the production of the Curved Dash – this is how it was christened due to the characteristic curved line of the front. At that time, Ransom Eli Olds’ company, founded in 1897, had not yet been purchased by General Motors, so the automotive industry in the US was not yet monopolized by the “Big Three”. Essential and mechanically simple “duc” of the early 20th century, it was proposed at a sufficiently competitive price to guarantee its commercial success. It reached the Museum in 1967, purchased from the auction house Finarte.
