Autodelta, Alfa Romeo’s legendary racing department, donated this car to the Museum in 1982, shortly before it closed down. Born in 1973 to race in the World Sportscar Championship, it obtained the title in 1975, winning seven races of eight and competing with the greatest drivers of the time. An offspring of the Type 33 that had debuted in 1967, this car was completely new, with a tubular chassis and a 12-cylinder boxer engine with 3L capacity and over 500 HP, and would also reach Formula 1 with Brabham and Alfa Romeo itself.
