Built for the ACF Grand Prix in 1914, this model was driven by Antonio Fagnano: in front of the immense audience in Lyon Mercedes took the glory, but the S57 got its revenge in the post-war period. Sold to Costantino Trombetta Stathopulo, Fiat dealer for Messina since 1907, this model was donated to the Museum in 1934. But not before having obtained a good 13th position in the 1921 Targa Florio race won by Guido Masetti’s twin vehicle which repeated Ascari’s successful performance in the Parma-Poggio di Berceto race two years earlier.
