Founded in 1906 by Matteo Ceirano and Michele Ansaldi, SPA (Società Piemontese Automobili) made rapid progress thanks to the quality and sparkling performance of its touring and sports cars. Its 23 S appeared in a number of versions in 1922. In the first half of the 1920s, this one carried off the Coppa delle Alpi and the Aosta to Great St Bernard and Cuneo to Colle della Maddalena hill climbs. Note the luggage space behind the two seats.
