The Mercedes 350 SL marked a profound change in the company’s engineering and style. A completely new bodywork with slightly rounded lines and short tail gave the whole car a pleasantly modern look. This version was presented along with the 350 SLC with extended wheelbase. Its production began in 1970 and about 30,000 had been made when it came to an end ten years later.
