It was found in 1953 in Nomi, Trentino, underneath a woodpile at the Ricovero Romani hospital. The Museum spent a small fortune (445,000 lire of the time) in travels, tips, lunches and charity work to obtain the donation in 1960. Seven years later, the Museum of Stuttgart spruced it up with a meticulous, well-documented restoration. After all, the Victoria was the first model manufactured by Karl Benz after his pioneering experience with tricycles, which gave him the reputation of “father” of the automobile together with Gottlieb Daimler.
