In business in Milan from the end of the 19th century to 1955, the Edoardo Bianchi automobile factory was one of Italy’s most famous brands, producing cars that were prized for their great quality and sturdy construction. The S4, built from 1924 to 1927, was one of its most popular models, and featured a beautifully crafted body and numerous ingenious technical solutions, such as a gearbox separate from the engine that swung together with the driver shaft.
Historic Bianchis are very rare today, and torpedo models even more so. This example is the only Bianchi in Italy in a collection open to the public, making it of extraordinary historical value.
