Chris Bangle here tries to reinterpret the lines of the 328 berlinetta that dominated the “strange” Mille Miglia race in 1940, contended for the only time in its history on an extremely fast closed circuit. The lines are different – the winning berlinetta had the lines of the Milanese Touring Superleggera – and in Munich a new design was being generated: one of the concepts that would guide the small revolution of the charismatic American designer.
