Ettore Bugatti wanted to build a toy car for his son Roland, but shortly after many other high society offspring started craving this car. One of them was young Gianni Agnelli, who was only six at the time and who later donated the Bugatti Type ‘Baby’ to the Museum in 1960. A scale replica of the Bugatti Type 35, it has an electric engine, drum brakes, and excellent performances. Some races were even organized for the owners of the over 90 vehicles assembled in Molsheim, where it raced alongside its “elder sister” which prevailed in all the Grand Prix races of the period.
