The “modern” carriage with the box supported by elastic joints, can be dated back to the fifteenth century. Yet the animal tow carriage is as old as the wheel and for centuries, or millenniums, it represented the only means of ground transportation. Ideally, this is where the Museum starts, from a late seventeenth century French “Coach-and-four”: in the beginning, the dreams, experiments, visions of generations of men. Later, the history of the automobile, from its outset to the future.
