The illustrious owner of the car on display at the Museum was Cesare Goria Gatti, a pioneer in the Italian automotive landscape who was among the founding members of Fiat and of the “L’Automobile” magazine, which later became an official part of the Italian Automobile Club.
With this car, Goria Gatti and Roberto Biscaretti di Ruffia took part in the inauguration of the Torino-Milano autostrada on 25 October 1932, during Benito Mussolini’s first visit to Torino. It is on that occasion that Goria Gatti reported to the Duce about the intention to constitute an automobile museum, which received Mussolini’s approval.
In 1933, Goria Gatti donated to Carlo Biscaretti his, by then, well-known 4 HP, which was later sent to the Ford Museum as a gift following a request from senator Giovanni Agnelli. In the 1970s, the car was sent back to Fiat so it could be looked after at the company’s Centro Storico.
