Lancia Aprilia

With the Lambda, Vincenzo Lancia had launched the unibody, and in 1936 his Aprilia marked a new step ahead thanks to its aerodynamic bodywork, all-independent suspensions, and narrow V four-cylinder engine. These solutions, as well as its pleasant and aerodynamic line (many bodyworks were created for it by external coachbuilders) and its brilliant performance, prolonged its success well beyond WWII, until 1950. The vehicle displayed here was in fact built in 1948 and donated to the Museum twelve years later by Mario Piceci, with just 28,000 km on the dial.
