The B1’s 1899 Daimler Phoenix engine derives from the model that Ferdinand Charron had used to win the Paris-Amsterdam race only one year earlier, with an average speed of more than 44 km/h. In 1935 the Museum acquired the vehicle displayed here from the company Giusti in Pisa for 550 lire, plus 300 for the transportation to Turin. The brand’s first car, which was presented to the public ten years earlier, was also equipped with a Daimler engine. The launch of their first model took place only three years after the constitution of the company, which, in 1886 was the first French car factory together with Peugeot.
