Fiat 500 “Topolino”

1936

The 500 “Topolino” (unofficial name given by the public, never endorsed by Fiat)  is characterised by a very simple production process: a small 4-cylinder engine assembled with a cantilever system in front of the wheel axle, independent front wheels, and a two-seater body with an unmistakable style. Consumption was only 6 litres per 100 km. At the time of its release, it cost 8,900 Italian lire and contributed significantly to the spread of this car in Italy. Until 1955, it was produced in three series, with a total of almost 520,000 units, including the ‘Giardiniera’ version.
